Terms of Service
Last updated: March 26, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Rendex screenshot and rendering API and related services (the “Service”) operated by Copperline Labs LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Definitions
- “Service” means the Rendex API at api.rendex.dev, the MCP server, documentation, and the rendex.dev website.
- “API Key” means the unique credential issued to you for authenticating requests to the Service.
- “Content” means screenshots, rendered images, and other output generated by the Service on your behalf.
- “API Call” means a single request to any Service endpoint that produces a billable response.
- “Plan” means your subscription tier (Free, Starter, Pro, or Enterprise), which determines your monthly API call allowance and rate limits.
2. Account and API Keys
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security and confidentiality of your API keys.
- All activity that occurs using your API keys, whether authorized by you or not.
- Providing accurate account information and keeping it current.
You must not share, publish, or embed API keys in client-side code. If you believe your key has been compromised, revoke it immediately via your dashboard. We reserve the right to revoke API keys that are being misused.
3. Service Description
Rendex captures screenshots and renders web pages via a programmatic API. The Service processes publicly accessible web pages and returns images in PNG, JPEG, or WebP format. We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service depends on third-party infrastructure (Cloudflare, browser engines) that may experience occasional disruptions.
4. Acceptable Use
You may use the Service for legitimate purposes, including:
- Generating webpage thumbnails and previews
- Website monitoring and change detection
- Content archiving and documentation
- Automated reporting and content generation
- AI agent workflows via the MCP server or REST API
You must not use the Service to:
- Capture pages requiring authentication credentials you do not own or are not authorized to use.
- Systematically scrape copyrighted content for redistribution or commercial resale without authorization.
- Generate screenshots for phishing, impersonation, fraud, or any deceptive purpose.
- Capture, generate, or distribute illegal content of any kind.
- Circumvent paywalls, access controls, or content protection mechanisms.
- Conduct load testing, denial-of-service attacks, or any activity intended to degrade the Service.
- Share, resell, or sublicense your API keys to third parties.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
AI agents using the MCP server or API are subject to these same terms. You are responsible for the actions of any automated system operating under your API key.
5. Rate Limits, Plans, and Billing
Each Plan includes a monthly API call allowance and per-minute rate limit. Current pricing and limits are listed at rendex.dev/pricing. Overage charges apply when you exceed your Plan’s monthly allowance, billed at the per-call overage rate for your tier.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. You agree to Stripe’s terms of service for payment processing.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods. Plan changes take effect at the next billing cycle.
- Pricing may change with 30 days’ written notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before changes take effect.
6. Data Processing
Screenshots are generated on Cloudflare Workers and returned directly to you. We do not store generated screenshots after delivery. API request metadata (URL, timestamp, response status, latency) is retained for billing accuracy, debugging, and abuse prevention. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
7. Intellectual Property
We own all rights to the Service, API, documentation, and related intellectual property. You retain ownership of Content generated through the Service using your API key. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to capture and use content from target URLs.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on the following third-party providers to operate:
- Cloudflare— Infrastructure, edge compute, and browser rendering
- Stripe— Payment processing and subscription billing
- Unkey— API key management and rate limiting
- Supabase— Database and usage logging
Each provider operates under their own terms of service and privacy policies.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that all websites will render correctly or that screenshots will be pixel-perfect.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Copperline Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.
In no event shall the total liability of Copperline Labs LLC exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100.00 USD).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Copperline Labs LLC, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights through Content you generate.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, non-payment, abuse, or legal obligation. You may cancel your account at any time. Upon termination, your API keys are revoked immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect via email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
