Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) forms part of the Terms of Serviceand governs how you may use the Rendex screenshot and rendering API, its MCP server, landing page tools, and related services (the “Service”), operated by Copperline Labs LLC. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in rate limiting, suspension, termination without refund, and — where applicable — reporting to law enforcement.

1. How Rendex Works

Rendex renders web content on demand: you submit a URL or HTML, we return pixel-perfect images or PDFs. We operate a rendering tool, not a content curator. Except for a narrow technical check against the Google Safe Browsing threat list (malware, phishing, unwanted software, potentially harmful applications), we do not pre-screen, classify, or moderate the URLs or HTML you submit. Every other request is rendered as instructed. You are responsible for what you choose to render through your account.

2. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the Service in any of the following ways.

2.1 Illegal Content

• Child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”)or any depiction of minors in sexual, exploitative, or suggestive contexts. This is an absolute prohibition. Confirmed CSAM will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement, and associated accounts will be terminated immediately.
• Non-consensual intimate imagery(“revenge porn”), deepfake sexual imagery of real people without their documented consent, or any sexual content involving coercion.
• Intellectual-property infringement: capturing copyrighted material, paywalled content, trademarks, or trade secrets for redistribution, resale, or derivative works without authorization.
• Content that violates any applicable law in your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of the target website.

2.2 Unauthorized Access and Credential Misuse

• Accessing any page, account, or resource you do not own or are not explicitly authorized to access.
• Passing cookies, session tokens, authorization headers, basic-auth credentials, or any other authentication material that belongs to a third party or that you are not authorized to use.
• Circumventing paywalls, login walls, CAPTCHAs, IP restrictions, geo-blocks, or other access controls on sites you do not own.

2.3 Fraud, Phishing, and Impersonation

• Generating screenshots, PDFs, or renders for use in phishing, business-email compromise, romance scams, fake invoices, fake receipts, or any deceptive scheme.
• Fabricating evidence of transactions, communications, identity documents, or social media activity.
• Impersonating another person, company, or public service using Rendex output.

2.4 Harassment, Hate, and Violent Extremism

• Harassing, stalking, doxxing, or threatening any individual or group.
• Rendering or distributing content that incites violence, promotes terrorism, or constitutes unlawful hate speech.

2.5 Privacy Violations

• Capturing non-public personal data without a lawful basis under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or other applicable privacy laws.
• Scraping or aggregating personal data from target sites in violation of those sites’ terms of service or applicable privacy laws.

2.6 Infrastructure Abuse

• Using the Service to conduct denial-of-service attacks, credential stuffing, vulnerability scanning of targets you do not own, or any other hostile automation.
• Interfering with or disrupting the Service itself, our infrastructure, or any third-party infrastructure we rely on.
• Attempting to bypass rate limits, sharing API keys across unrelated accounts, or reselling Service access without a written agreement.

2.7 Resale and Sublicensing

• Selling, sublicensing, or leasing raw API access to third parties without a separate written agreement with Copperline Labs LLC.
• Embedding Rendex API keys in client-side code, mobile apps, browser extensions, or other redistributable software from which the key can be extracted.

3. Adult Content

Lawful adult content is not prohibited on the paid Rendex API, provided it does not fall under any prohibition in Section 2.1 (including CSAM, non-consensual imagery, and illegal content). You remain fully responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws, including age verification, record-keeping, and distribution restrictions (for example, 18 U.S.C. § 2257 in the United States).

The public free tools at rendex.dev/tools block a curated list of adult domains as a marketing-hygiene measure. This restriction applies only to the public demo surface and does not affect paid API access under your authenticated account.

4. Credential Pass-Through Is a Paid Feature

Cookie injection, custom request headers, and URL-embedded basic auth (https://user:pass@host) require a paid plan (Basic and up). Free-tier accounts cannot pass credentials through the Service. This is a deliberate liability control — not a content policy — and ensures that any request capable of authenticating as another party is tied to a billing record.

5. No Pre-Screening; You Are Responsible

Except for the Google Safe Browsing threat check described in Section 1, Rendex does not filter, classify, or moderate URLs or HTML before rendering. Every URL you submit is rendered as requested. You are solely responsible for the legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of the content captured through your account, including content captured by automated systems, AI agents, or any third party acting on your behalf under your API key.

6. Reporting Abuse

If you believe the Service is being used in violation of this AUP, report it to abuse@rendex.dev. Include the URL, approximate timestamp, and any supporting information. We investigate reports in good faith, but we do not publicly disclose the status of individual investigations.

Suspected CSAM may also be reported directly to NCMEC’s CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

7. Enforcement

At our sole discretion and without prior notice, we may take any of the following actions in response to a suspected or confirmed violation:

• Warn the account holder;
• Apply tighter rate limits, credit caps, or per-feature restrictions;
• Revoke individual API keys or disable entire accounts;
• Suspend or terminate the account without refund;
• Preserve records in response to valid legal process or subpoena;
• Report suspected illegal activity to law enforcement, NCMEC, or other competent authorities.

Enforcement is typically reactive: we respond to abuse reports, automated abuse signals, and legal obligations. Nothing in this AUP obligates us to proactively monitor customer traffic.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to account holders via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
